Mug Presses: versatility and precision for customizing drinkware
Mug presses are heat transfer machines specifically designed to apply custom designs onto cylindrical or conical surfaces such as mugs, bottles, jugs, tumblers, or thermoses. They use controlled heat and pressure to apply images, logos, or illustrations with long-lasting, high-quality results. These presses are essential for techniques such as sublimation, DTF, and other heat transfer variations, as they deliver sharp, durable finishes on various materials including ceramic, metal, or coated polymers.

Frequent questions
A mug press is a type of heat press specifically designed to personalise mugs, bottles and other cylindrical objects using heat and pressure. It is mainly used in sublimation processes, where the printed design is transferred onto the coated surface of the item. InkOne mug presses are designed to provide precise fitting and uniform temperature, ensuring consistent results in every customisation.
With a mug press, it is possible to sublimate ceramic, metal or polymer mugs, provided they have a sublimation coating. Not all mugs are suitable, so using properly coated products is essential. InkOne mug presses are designed to work with the most common market formats, making them suitable for both small-scale and continuous production.
A dedicated mug press offers greater precision, ease of use and better results when the main goal is mug customisation. InkOne mug presses are designed for users who want to focus on this product, reduce errors and improve productivity compared to multifunction solutions.
Production capacity depends on several factors. Depending on the model, a mug press can process 1, 2 or even 5 mugs at the same time. InkOne offers a wide range of presses for different production needs. Another key factor is the design being sublimated and the material of the item. As a general guideline, pressing time for a ceramic mug is usually around 180 seconds, while darker designs or solid colours may require up to 240 seconds. For stainless steel bottles or tumblers, pressing times are generally shorter.
To work with a mug press, in addition to the blank items, it is recommended to have heat-resistant tape of different widths to secure the transfer paper, protective sheets to avoid staining the press, and heat-resistant gloves for safe handling. If possible, using a cooling rack or cooling station for mugs and other items helps improve ink fixation and significantly reduces waiting times.
